Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Love Vows RSVP ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information. Love Vows RSVP is a globally available service that builds and hosts individual wedding websites, including an RSVP form for guests.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers two groups of people:
- Wedding guests who are invited to a wedding and submit an RSVP via a Love Vows RSVP wedding website.
- Wedding couples and wedding planners who engage Love Vows RSVP to build, design, and host their wedding website.
2. Our role under data protection law
Love Vows RSVP plays different roles depending on whose data is being processed:
- Guest RSVP data — the wedding couple and/or wedding planner is the data controller. Love Vows RSVP acts as their data processor, holding the data on their behalf so they can manage their guest list and wedding logistics.
- Couple and wedding information (names, date, locations, timings, story, photos and video) — Love Vows RSVP acts as data controller, because the couple supplies this information to us by email so we can build and publish their site.
3. Information collected from wedding guests
When a guest submits an RSVP, we collect:
- First name
- Surname
- Attendance response (yes / no)
- Optional dietary requirements
This information is collected to allow the wedding party to manage the guest list and wedding logistics (such as catering numbers and seating). The wedding couple and/or wedding planner will have admin access to the wedding website and can view all guest RSVP replies.
Legal basis (where applicable, e.g. UK/EU GDPR): legitimate interests of the wedding party in organising their wedding, and/or the guest's consent given by submitting the form.
4. Information collected from the wedding couple / planner
Wedding couples and planners provide the following information directly to Love Vows RSVP by email, so we can build and publish their wedding website:
- Names of the couple
- Date of the wedding
- Location(s) of the wedding
- Timing and schedule of the wedding day
- The couple's story (how they got to this point in their lives)
- Photos and, where supplied, video of the couple
- Contact details used for the email exchange (name and email address of the point of contact)
Legal basis: consent. The couple and/or planner provides this information voluntarily and consents to it being published on their Love Vows RSVP wedding website. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing hello@lovevowsrsvp.com. Withdrawal will result in removal from the public site and may mean the site can no longer function.
5. Public visibility of the wedding website
Each wedding website is published at a public URL on the open internet and may be indexed by search engines. This means the couple's names, story, wedding date, location(s), timing, and any photos or video supplied will be visible to anyone who has the link or finds the page.
The couple is responsible for deciding what they are comfortable publishing and for obtaining the consent of any third parties named or shown on the site (for example, members of the wedding party, family members, or the photographer whose images are used).
6. Photos and video supplied by the couple
By sending us photos or video, the couple warrants that they own or have permission to use that media, including any photographer licence required and the consent of any identifiable people shown.
Love Vows RSVP uses the media only to build and host the couple's wedding site. We do not use it for marketing, training of AI systems, resale, or any other purpose without separate written consent from the couple.
7. Admin access by Love Vows RSVP
Love Vows RSVP has administrative access to each wedding party's individual website in order to upload content, design the experience, and provide technical support.
Love Vows RSVP does not access, view, edit, export, or delete the guest RSVP database or any individual guest entries, except where strictly required for technical maintenance, to investigate a security issue, or to comply with a legal obligation.
8. Where data is stored
All data is stored within Love Vows RSVP's application infrastructure, which is provided by Lovable Cloud. Lovable Cloud uses Supabase as an infrastructure subprocessor to host the database. We do not transfer or share data with any other third parties for our own purposes.
Subprocessors: Lovable Cloud and Supabase. Each has its own published privacy policy and data protection terms.
9. Data retention and deletion
- Guest RSVP data is retained for up to 6 months after the wedding, after which the entire wedding database is deleted in full. Love Vows RSVP does not perform individual guest deletions; deletion is of the whole wedding database at the end of the retention period.
- Couple and wedding information is retained for up to 12 months — the default maximum lifetime of a wedding website. If the couple/planner has agreed a longer hosting term with Love Vows RSVP, the data will remain on Lovable Cloud (with Supabase as infrastructure subprocessor) until the end of that agreed term, after which all wedding data is deleted in full.
10. Sharing with third parties
Love Vows RSVP does not sell, rent, or share guest data, couple data, or wedding information with any third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
Wedding party's onward use of guest data: The wedding couple and/or planner may choose to share guest information (for example, dietary requirements with their caterer, or guest names with their venue or stationer). Once that data leaves the Love Vows RSVP service in this way, the wedding party becomes the controller of that onward sharing. Love Vows RSVP is not responsible for, and has no control over, how the wedding party or their suppliers subsequently handle that data.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under UK GDPR, EU GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, or other equivalent laws), you may have rights including:
- Access to your personal information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of your information
- Withdrawal of consent (where consent is the legal basis)
- Data portability
- To lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
For guests: because the wedding couple/planner is the controller of your RSVP data, the most direct route is to contact them. You may also contact us at the email below and we will pass your request on.
For couples and planners: you can exercise your rights by emailing hello@lovevowsrsvp.com.
12. Cookies and analytics
Love Vows RSVP uses only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to make the wedding website and RSVP form work (for example, session and security cookies). We do not use advertising cookies and do not run third-party marketing analytics.
13. Children
Love Vows RSVP is not directed at children. Guest details for children attending a wedding are submitted by the responsible adult guest and are limited to the same fields (name, attendance, optional dietary requirements).
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
